Student Testimonials

"Having seen an outstanding Student’s Drawing exhibition I decided to join that class.  I didn’t know the teacher then, but her name was Glenda Morgan. Glenda’s approach was to work with students on all the technical elements of drawing and mediums.  At the end of each day everyone’s pictures were put up on the wall inviting us to comment and encourage, and develop discussion.  This was as important to the students as actually making the drawings.

Glenda’s  “still life” set-ups were legendary. She’d bring in a carload of junk and seemingly throw it all in the middle of the floor.  In actuality as she prodded and poked the pile, she artfully arranged everything so that the class could circle the pile and make maximum use of spontaneous observation and problem solving.

What I’ve retained most from Glenda’s classes is that drawings need layering, dramatic tones, depths, and compositional interest to arrest us, to make us feel, and make us stop to look at the picture. I miss her insightful teaching and generous personality and her way of expanding our art appreciation by teaching and arranging Gallery outings, all fun and educational."    Sue Young

"I would recommend Glenda Morgan to anyone interested in art lessons of the highest calibre. Glenda is a generous and imaginative teacher of the highest standard covering all aspects of art. I fully appreciate having attending her fulfilling classes. I especially enjoyed and blossomed from her encouragement to  investigate and expand our use of colour and pattern in artwork projects. The social warmth was as much a part of the art enjoyment as the projects. Moments of quiet contemplation within the class really created a new way of seeing the possibilities for the project in front of us.  Exciting" Suzanne Buller.

"Creative Drawing classes with Glenda were so interesting. The class were encouraged to participate in unusual projects which were followed to completion exploring all aspects of artistic methods. Glenda is a dedicated, knowledgable, competent and inspiring teacher. Her encouragement brought out the the best in her class and we were so disappointed when she was no longer our teacher, but remains a good friend.

I also had the pleasure of attending Glenda's 10 day Qigong Retreat in Bali. Her approach was so competent and comprehensive combining exercise with meditation. We benefited so much from her enjoyable yet challenging and relaxed teaching method. I felt both invigorated and relaxed after this wonderful experience. Her generousity in sharing her enthusiasm for Qigong and her care for our wellbeing was infectious as was her ‘hot water’ laughter. Love, Kay x"

I call this approach ‘Quiet Eye - Creative Eye’. During these Workshop and Retreats I teach all traditional drawing and painting techniques developing these skills as well as teaching innovative exercises to support and deepen the students personal artistic expression. There are moments of ‘Mindfulness Meditation' instruction to open our creative receptivity and allow new ways of exploring what we see.

Retreats are held in beautiful natural environments, which offer inspiration to any subject matter the individual wishes to explore.
